| Hypnosis and Childbirth |
| Through the work of Dr Grantly Dick-Reid a British obstetrician in the 1920’s has come the knowledge that it is the fear and panic experienced by women that makes childbirth particularly painful. It is this fear of the possible pain and outcome of giving birth that has resulted in the increasing rate of intervention by caesarean section today.
Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy will help an expectant mother to remove these fears, panic and stress in order to have as natural a birth as possible. Women who have used hypnosis during childbirth have experienced the following;
|
| |
- Relief of morning sickness and other discomfort during pregnancy.
- Significant pain reduction during childbirth.
- A less stressed baby during birth.
- Feeling “in control” of their birthing experience.
- Feeling “in-tune” with their body and their baby.
- Reduced time spent in labour.
- A feeling of calmness and relaxation.
- A significant reduction in the need for medical intervention.
- Their babies have become better feeders and sleepers.
- Parents report that their babies are significantly happier and more content than previous babies.
- A bond between mother and baby is created more easily.
- A reduction in post natal depression.
- Feeling more able to cope.
In just 3-4 session (£70 per session for an hour) held between 13 and 36 weeks of pregnancy, you will be treated to receive these wonderful benefits and taught relaxation and visualisation techniques to be used during childbirth. Below is an e-mail received from a now mother in Putney, who received the above treatments;
"Dear Reiko
Just wanted to let you know I have (eventually) had my baby. I ended up going over term and being induced, but the actual labour went smoothly and we now have a lovely little girl, born 7lb 13 last Monday night.
I was really pleased to have the calming techniques you taught me as they helped me relax and deliver her naturally, with minimum pain relief. I definately would recommend hypnotherapy to my friends and have kept your card to pass on to anyone else who is interested in this method of birth preparations.
Thanks again for all your help"
